About Me.

Having moved to America at a formative age, I learned to embrace the complexity of contending with multiple aspects of the self as I grew older. As a therapist, I am passionate about taking that knowledge and drawing from my empathy, education, and experience to support those, who once experienced trauma.

In my opinion, trauma can occur when one experiences ongoing exposure of strained relationships due to difficulty finding balance in cultural negotiation in multicultural families, workplaces, and society. Trauma affects everyone differently and for some, they end up developing feelings of anxiety, depression, anger, and low self-esteem issues due to the unprocessed tensions and conflicts.

As an Asian-American, I have a particular interest in working with 1st/2nd-generation Americans and those of multi-ethnic, cultural, religious, or socio-economic backgrounds. I get excited when I have the opportunity to explore ways to negotiate tradition and modernity, individualism and collectivism, while working with individuals of various backgrounds. I often take a warm, compassionate, and culturally sensitive approach to empower individuals to uncover their authentic selves and find aliveness and vitality in their relationships.
